The Daily Doodles |
My name is David Michael Chandler, and everyday I will post a Daily Doodle with a story attached to it. Everything you see here has been written, drawn, and coloured all on my lonesome. I hope you enjoy them, or die trying. Please E-mail anytime at thedailydoodles@gmail.com |
“Space Can Be So Lonely”
Everyone on the ship is dead, except for me and you only
And as we’ve come to learn, space can ever be so lonely.
As the last survivors of the virus, we ran into each other’s arms
Feelings grew so quickly, while we were drunk on each other’s charms.
We’d carelessly toss around words, like “always”, “fate”, and “love”
And we’d swear that the other was a gift, sent from Heaven above.
And I’ll admit that it was nice, as everything was new!
We disinfected the ship, and jettisoned the dead crew.
But when everything calmed back down, we entered that malaise,
As we got to really know each other, and left the lavender haze.
It’s just been a few weeks, but you’re already so annoying
You’re judgmental and dense, and creepily cloying.
I’ll happily ignore it for now, since I don’t wanna be alone,
But we’ve run out of things to say, and you dull me to the bone.
I can tell you feel the same, but there’s not much we can do
We’re the only two around, so we both pretend that “I love you”.
I’ll still hold you every night, and whisper sweet things in your ear
But the main reason that I love you, is that no one else is here.
(Thank you to the Amazingly Talented Samantha of Other-side-of-the-universe.com for giffing this for me!)

“Hold All My Calls, I’m Going To Space”
Hold all my calls, I’m going to space.
Taking some time off from the human race.
Maybe you can find me hanging out on the moon;
I know my schedule’s packed, but I’m leaving soon.
Perhaps a run around Saturn’s rings, then a nice nap on Mars.
Far away from Earth’s manufactured drama, pollution, and cars.
You can try to forward my emails, but I won’t be able to be reached
And I’ll be silently praying, that my ship’s hull will be breached.
Then I’ll be sucked out into the dark open vacuum of space!
Floating amongst the stars, a big smile on my face :-D
Don’t bother leaving a voicemail, cause I ain’t coming home
For the rest of my days, the Milky Way I shall roam.
