The Daily Doodles |
My name is David Michael Chandler, and everyday I will post a Daily Doodle with a story attached to it. Everything you see here has been written, drawn, and coloured all on my lonesome. I hope you enjoy them, or die trying. Please E-mail anytime at thedailydoodles@gmail.com |
“As the Sun Rises”, a Haiku
As the sun rises,
You get yet another chance
To screw up again.

“The Girl Who Solved All Of Her Problems”
There once was a sad girl who had problems every day :’-(
Too many annoying people, each trying to have their say
She was sick of all the bastards, so she prayed for a solution
And God finally replied, “why not try a mass execution?”
“It just might work!” thought the girl, “I can at least give it a try”
So she got her best machete, and made a list of those to die.
She caught ‘em by surprise, killing them sleeping in their beds
And the girl amassed a great collection, of all their severed heads.
The brave go-getter girl slashed her way to a better life
As there’s nuthin’ that can’t be fixed with the serrated blade of a knife
After decapitating all her problems, the girl is happier than she’s ever been
And she lived happily ever after… with no problems ever again. :’-)

“When The Brain Goes POP”
Marcus Sherman’s mind was wandering, whilst he was out on a stroll
And though he was just minding his business, not bothering a soul,
His brain decides to POP, and a bubble of old memories explode
Unleashing ancient shame and regret that he had deeply burrowed.
Because memories don’t stay down forever! Slowly their pressure will rise
And the more you ignore it, the more it grows exponentially in size.
Until the day it POPS! no matter how much you’ve built your defenses
Your body freezes, your brain melts, and flashbacks fill all your senses.
And for that moment, you suffer, living through all of it again.
Your mind bouncing back and forth between all the bad memories of then.
But with the pressure now released, the feeling eventually dissipates
And you stuff it all back in its tiny hole, where it again grows and waits.

“Crack Your Head Open, Let Your Demon Out to Play”
Crack your head open,
Let your demon out to play
They’ve been long a hopin’,
That this could be the day.
So just focus on your demon
Leaving your defenses quite agape
They’ll see that you’re not schemin’
And make their demonic escape.
The demon’ll run and they’ll wander
And you will feel quite at ease
While ya have a relaxing ponder
The demons’ll do as they please.
Soon the demon will be so drowsy,
Cuz’ it gone and tuckered itself all out
Won’t be able to make ya feel lousy
Or filled with regret and doubt.
Let the tired demon back in,
To return to sleep in your head.
Just repeat this process a-gain,
Once in a while until you’re dead.
