The Daily Doodles |
My name is David Michael Chandler, and everyday I will post a Daily Doodle with a story attached to it. Everything you see here has been written, drawn, and coloured all on my lonesome. I hope you enjoy them, or die trying. Please E-mail anytime at thedailydoodles@gmail.com |

Boy #83179 (affectionally nicknamed “The Gill-Boy” due to the gills on his neck that enable him to breathe under water) once again escapes from the Under Water Laboratory where dozens of scientists conduct various experiments on him and his mutated body… and like each time he escaped before, he goes and sits by himself at the bottom of the sea so he can have some alone time to think.
His mind wanders as he stares up to the surface of the ocean, the sun dimly shining through the rolling waves above… It all seems to shimmer and sparkle up there.
He knows that other boys his age usually have moms and dads… but he doesn’t. Or did he? Was he taken from them? Was he born with these gills? Or perhaps he was created in the lab he lives in now? None of the scientists have gills… is he a freak? The Boy sighs as he considers which alternative he prefers best.
The Boy takes a peek over the rocky sea-wall and sees the support crew from the Lab searching for him in their Ocean-Probes… he knows that he could hide forever in the ocean depths, away from the scientists and their experiments, they’d never find him… ever. But not being able to complete their research would make them so sad. Plus, they’re not all bad.
He digs his fist into the ocean floor and lets the various pebbles, shells, and tiny sea-creatures slowly float out of his hand. He sighs again.
Boy #83179 swims into sight of the Ocean-Probes sent to find him, and gives himself up.
