The Daily Doodles |
My name is David Michael Chandler, and everyday I will post a Daily Doodle with a story attached to it. Everything you see here has been written, drawn, and coloured all on my lonesome. I hope you enjoy them, or die trying. Please E-mail anytime at thedailydoodles@gmail.com |

Born 2 years into a 20 year voyage to a private planet his parents purchased to raise a family on, Jefferson DeGraffe looks out into the dark star-peppered void of space.
Him and his parents were meant to hibernate the entire duration of the journey, but a faulty cryogenic valve killed his parents and Jefferson barely escaped the same fate. For the past year Jefferson has been floating through space on the pre-programmed journey, his parents corpses at his side.
Luckily, he has the standard-issue extended-space-journey Droid assistant to keep him company, but since the Droid is just meant to be a backup pilot of sorts to handle emergency situations, it is not programmed to talk or think. It just exists.
Time is near meaningless, and this life of quiet loneliness is all he knows. Some days he stares into a nearby star, and wishes the ship would steer right into its fiery ball of flame and fury, ending the monotony and lonesomeness.
But then, he wonders, who would take care of his Droid? And he sighs.
Hour after hour, until exhaustion gets the better of him, Jefferson holds his Droid and stares off into space.
