The Daily Doodles |
My name is David Michael Chandler, and everyday I will post a Daily Doodle with a story attached to it. Everything you see here has been written, drawn, and coloured all on my lonesome. I hope you enjoy them, or die trying. Please E-mail anytime at thedailydoodles@gmail.com |

Jacob Adler softly touches the glass of the display case and stares at the Horned Monkeyfish bones that he found so captivating as a child… It was so cool! Actual bones of a rare mythical baby sea monster…!
He forcibly tries to rekindle that feeling of awe he felt as a kid… but it simply isn’t working.
Jacob can tell it’s just a few creatures glued together, plus some poorly concealed ceramic filler. It’s pretty obvious.
He had no idea he was such a stupid kid.
It reminds him of those photos of ghosts that are so feebly Photoshopped, or molded rubber feet made to make fake Bigfoot tracks, or that old famous photo of the Loch Ness Monster which was revealed to just be a thin wooden cut-out hoax…
All of the cool stuff in the world is fake, he realizes, as he runs his hands through his thinning hair.
Now… now, he feels like an adult for the first time. And he hates it.
