Sharon sees life as a disease with a cure
Pill popping enables her to never have to endure.
The feeling of nothing is her feeling of zen
If she has her way, she’ll never feel anything again.

Scared to death of dealing with angst, loss, and pain
She takes a cocktail of prescriptions to numb her brain.
Sharon self-medicates to be able to ignore
All of the regular problems that life has in store.

Finding the right balance is always tricky
The threat of an overdose is a possibility
But it’s a risk she will take quite happily
To live an emotion-free life… thanks to chemistry.
